Murdoch is a dynamic, modern university committed to excellence in teaching and research within an international context. It has strong links to its local region having entered into partnership with regional councils, local industry, TAFE and the secondary school system to develop two, integrated, community-focused education hubs in the south-western corridor at Rockingham and Peel.
A Murdoch education teaches students to think independently

depend. The University offers biological and environmental science; veterinary
and biomedical science; chiropractic; nursing; law; business; information
technology; media studies; the humanities; mathematics; the physical sciences;
engineering; education; and the social sciences. It provides alternative
entry paths for students from non-traditional academic backgrounds.
Murdoch is the only university in the country to achieve The Good Universities Guide’s five-star rating for graduate satisfaction for ten out of elevan years. Its staff have won many national awards including Australian Awards for University Teaching and the Prime Minister’s Award for University Teacher of the Year.
Murdoch is one of the leading research universities in Australia, ranking in the top 12 on a per capita basis. Murdoch is a member of the Innovative Research Universities Australia alliance formed to increase and extend the activities of the member universities in research, teaching and learning, international programs, commercial enterprises, regional initiatives, and engagement with business, professions and communities. Its work has national and international relevance with particular expertise in ecosystem management and restoration, technologies and policies for sustainable development, agricultural and veterinary biotechnology, social change and social equity, hydrometallurgy, contemporary Asia, interactive media, intelligent systems and software engineering. Research centres such as the AJ Parker CRC for Hydrometallurgy, the United Nations Environment Programme International Environmental Technology Centre and the Interactive Television Research Institute are leaders in research and technology transfer on a global scale. and demonstrate Murdcoh’s capability and engagement with the business community.
Murdoch is committed to international education and has developed links with 44 institutions around the world, contributing to an increasingly global outlook amongst students and staff. The Murdoch community comprises more than 14,000 students and 1,400 staff, including 2,000 international students from 65 countries.
